Grooming coming to Prairie Path!

We’re so excited to share this news with our Prairie Path family! We’ve known since we started that we wanted to offer expand our services beyond dog walking and pet sitting. Last year we began offering training programs to our Illinois based locations and has already grown into a huge part of our business. The time has come to roll out another menu of services for your furry family members. Our flagship location in Wheaton, IL, where Prairie Path began, will be opening a grooming studio late this spring! Our goal is to have our opening day the first part of May and will be keeping you all posted as we firm up our plans. Here are a few things that you have to look forward to as we work towards getting the space ready for your pet!

We first needed to find a space. Ideally we would be centrally located to our western suburb clients. Shawn Frick, Prairie Path’s founder had his eyes on a space knowing it would be great for grooming or a small daycare and it became available late last year! It will be located on Roosevelt Rd. in Wheaton.

The space prior was actually a barber shop so we were already in great shape for adding a washing station but we couldn’t get too ahead of ourselves. Before we could start assembling a grooming studio we had one big important part to acquire; a groomer! We were fortunate to meet Katrina. Katrina was practically raised in her mothers grooming studio and has been grooming all her life (since she was 15!). She has a wonderful, outgoing attitude and we feel she will be a natural fit within our company. She’s eager to get started and is the reason we’re bringing in some top-of-the-line equipment into the space. We ordered an extra large tub and an electric grooming table for those extra large pups. We’ll be set for all shapes and sizes!

Booking time with Katrina we will easy! Our walking software has been such an integral part of our services we wanted to find a similar system for our Grooming services. The software package will be equipped with online booking, text notification appointment reminders as well as text notifications for when your pet is ready to be picked up.

We’ll keep you posted with more updates as we get closer to announcing an opening date and start taking your appointment requests. Stay tuned!
