Since Brandy was a young girl, she always enjoyed being around animals, as relatives of hers always seemed to have an animal, dog or cat, running around their house. She grew up spending time at the farm with her mom, so she do enjoy the company of horses as well. She does ride for a long time family friend of ours who owns a farm in Woodstock; that’s where she spend most of her time Friday afternoons. Her and her Mom had a dog when she was growing up, a golden retriever and yellow lab mix, along with a horse, a pure-bred Polish Arab. While she attended a local community college, after she graduated, she attended the Midwest School of Pet Grooming to become a groomer and have a cerficiate in pet grooming. She worked as a groomer at a local grooming shop until she went on to work at a pet resort and spa, which offered doggy daycare and boarding. She was offered to do dog walking for the same company and came to enjoy that part of the business as she felt more confortable with the dogs one-on-one rather than in a group setting, just like grooming. She’s very happy to have found a place at Prairie Path where she can enjoy taking care of the client’s dogs while they’re away, and they’ll be sure to know that their dog has been well taken care of by the time they return home. While we don’t have our dog anymore, who’s playing with his brother on the rainbow bridge, she would like to have another, or several, in the future and her plans are to have a Chinese Crested, a Greyhound, an Italian Greyhound, a Golden Retriever, and a Yorkie.
